The Vancouver Whitecaps and BIGLOVEBALL are an obvious match. These professional soccer players have wide open hearts and connect deeply with people through play. We kinda do the same thing.

So when we had an opportunity to blend our enthusiasm for giving back to the community, we were on the same team.

Without a lot of formality, The VWCs and BLB put together a way to convey LOVE toward community without a lot of talk. On a recent visit to Vancouver Children’s Hospital the guys put aside a few hours to get to know the kids who were sadly on the bench.  Faces lit up on all of us as we used BIGLOVEBALL and bright coloured markers to ease the stress of day to day concern. Sometimes situations are tough and it’s hard to know what to say so we were all grateful to break the ice with a little love.

A special thank you to Russel Teibert, midfielder, who gets involved with many actions that lift spirit and raise funds in the city of Vancouver. Keep us on speed dial Russell!

  • A Girl Named Tru

Tru Wilson inspired us and countless others by courageously taking on her local Catholic school board to be acknowledged as the girl she is, rather than the gender assigned to her on her birth certificate. In 2015, at 12 years of age, she graced the cover of Vancouver Magazine as one of the 50 most powerful people in our city.

Though he stands just 2’7”, Spencer West is a giant among us. Born with a severe deformity of the spine, his legs were completely amputated from the pelvis down at the age of five. This did not stop him from climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro. On his hands.
